Everyday fabric softener has a versatile role to play in the home. If you only use it to soften and perfume your clothes, you're missing out on a whole host of other uses. For example, it can be used effectively to clean windows, carpets, smooth surfaces or to remove dirt from burnt dishes. And that is by far not all! Mix it with dish soap or vinegar and you have a whole new miracle.

Make your own cleaning mixture

If you need to clean the grout lines of tiles, window frames or similar surfaces, you can make your own cleaning mixture. It's not rocket science. You will need half a cup of fabric softener, half a cup of dish soap, half a cup of water and 1 tablespoon of 70% alcohol.

Mix all the ingredients together. Once the mixture is ready, spray it onto the areas to be cleaned, scrub with a brush and rinse with water. Everything will be sparkling clean, even those hard-to-reach places. You'll be amazed at how easy and inexpensive it is to make an effective cleaner. Not to mention the convenience it brings to your cleaning routine.

You can also mix it with vinegar

By mixing your homemade cleaner with vinegar, you can effectively clean tiles, floors and taps, among other things. Again, it's a simple process that won't take up much of your time. It will also clean dirty grout between tiles. You will need 2 tablespoons of baking soda, 2 tablespoons of vinegar, 1 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

Mix the fabric softener with the vinegar, then add a cup of water and finally the baking soda. Mix all the ingredients well and pour into a spray bottle. Spray the mixture onto the floors and tiles, scrub with a brush and rinse with clean water. The result is a sparkling clean house.
